Junaid Khan makes his acting debut in a historical drama called Maharaj. Set in India during colonization, the plot follows an audacious journalist who weathered the British regime and its iniquitous ways. Junaid who is a brave reporter goes in depth to expose the ills of British imperialism and how it operates through corruption and brute force.
As the story unfolds, there is a focus on a small-town journalist Maharaj who has a purpose of fighting against oppression. Upon discovering a British high-ranked officer who is a criminal, he steps forward to fight the battle regardless of the consequences. He suffers numerous hardships such as death threats, betrayals, and his fellow countrymen who are too afraid to oppose the British regime.

The film will appeal to the masses who admire the fierce fighting spirit of Maharaj as he leads countless others in their struggle for justice. It is a story of the selflessness people have towards life, the injustice faced by people of this land who have gone through impossible suffering yet don’t back down, and the spirit people have for their homeland.
Junaid Khan does not disappoint and manages to invoke a fusion of emotions through his character, offering an impressive performance. For those interested in historical narrations with a patriotic element, Maharaj is definitely one movie, which is extremely inspiring and entertaining.
Box Office Records
I researched this film very well, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find any box office collection records.
My Overall Experience
Maharaj is the debut film of Junaid Khan, and he is the main reason I watched it. I had high expectations from him, considering his father’s acting legacy, and he successfully fulfilled them. Apart from Junaid, the other actors also did a commendable job. The storyline is good, but the overall presentation could have been better. Overall, it’s an average film, and it’s available on Netflix, so go ahead and watch it now.
