Story
Lucky Baskhar (2024) is about Bhaskar, a simple bank employee living in 1980s Bombay, struggling to support his family. Dreaming of a better life, he takes a big risk by joining an investment scheme, which drags him into the world of scams and money laundering.
As Bhaskar tries to handle this mess, his life turns upside down, and he must face tough decisions that affect his family and morals. The movie shows his emotional journey, from being a good man to someone who has to fight to survive. Dulquer Salmaan’s performance makes Bhaskar’s struggles feel real and relatable.

My Overall Experience
First of all, while watching this movie, I noticed similarities between the story and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. However, despite these similarities, by the end, I realized the storyline was entirely unique.
This movie is set in the 90s and designed in a retro style, which feels very aesthetic and pleasing. I personally loved this approach. Dulquer Salmaan delivered an excellent performance, adding depth and clarity to the story.
However, I felt the songs didn’t match the storyline, which was a letdown for me. I didn’t enjoy the music much.
Another downside was the Hindi dubbing, which I found subpar. My suggestion would be to watch the movie in its original language with subtitles for a better experience. Overall, I would rate the movie 4 out of 5.
